The Wedding Experience
Step 1: Getting to Know You
Please shoot me an inquiry by using the button above. Within 24 hours, I will email you my pricing information and a follow-up questionnaire that asks further questions about you and your fiancé. If you are interested in booking, we will arrange a time to speak via phone or face-to-face virtual consultation and do a little getting to know each other (my preference is face-to-face)! Why? Because in addition to being a fan of my style, you'll want to determine that we are a great match and that I'm someone you see fitting into the celebration!

Step 2: Save the Date
We're a MATCH! Yay!!! You like me; you REALLY like me. Now it's time to lock down that date. A custom online booking proposal where you can review your tailored collections and pay your deposit to make everything officially official will be sent your way after your consultation. Once your deposit is paid, and the contract is signed, you're an official J Lauryn Photography Couple, and it's time to get started!!
Step 3: Engagement Session
Your engagement session is an essential step. For most of you, it will be our first and only time shooting together before I spend a whopping 8-10 hours with you on your wedding day. Here we get a chance to become familiar with each other in front and behind the camera.
To prepare for your Engagement Session, we will brainstorm the perfect location, time of year, colors, and general tidbits to make your personalities shine through the camera. Find outfits that suit your vision for your dream session, and leave the rest to me. You can expect your engagement gallery within two weeks after your session.
Step 4: Timeline Prep
Two months from your big day, we’ll start ensuring that we’re completely prepared and ready for your wedding! Together we will build a custom photography timeline to ensure that you don’t miss out on your dream wedding photos! We plan everything from getting ready, family portrait, and the cake cut to the minute. We work with you (and your planner) to plan your day so that you can have the perfect timeline for a photography-friendly wedding day.
Step 5: The Big Day
The day has arrived!! I'll be by your side to capture those timeless memories of every detail you poured your heart into across the planning stage. My mission is simple. To put you at ease so that you may enjoy your special day to the fullest without any worry that all the small and big moments are artfully captured! Just Relax! I got your back.
After the wedding, you can expect a sneak peek of your wedding by the following Wednesday. Just in time to share with all your closest friends.
Step 6: Delivery
You can expect your final galley delivery within 10-12 weeks from your wedding date. Through this gallery, you will be able to share photos with friends and family, purchase prints, and download all your favorites.
Albums are available for purchase! Together we will design a beautifully customized album for you and your family to enjoy.
FAQ
Do you shoot destination weddings?
Yes! Our team loves to travel for destination weddings outside of the Chicagoland area. Travel fees are added on to our standard packages on a case by case basis.
Do you travel for engagement sessions?
I am more than willing to travel for engagement sessions! I love it when our couples ask us to photograph them in a location that means something special to them! I like to book engagement sessions at least two weeks in advance, and 60 miles of roundtrip travel is included in your wedding collection.
Will there be a second shooter?
A second shooter is highly recommended for most weddings and required for weddings with 75+ guests or if the bride and groom are getting ready in different locations.
Do you service elopements/ intimate weddings?
Yes! Please inquire below for pricing on Elopements and Small Intimate Weddings (Small Intimate Wedding = Less than 25 people).
What kind of gear do you use?
I am a Canon R5 shooter. I love to shoot with prime lenses (35, 50 and 85mm) and my 70-200mm powerhouses lens.
How many photos do you deliver?
I average 40-60 deliverable images per hour that I’m shooting. I love delivering our client’s files quickly and easily via an online gallery. You will have the ability to print, share, and download your images as much as you want. I believe in freely sharing our work because that is what we would want if we were in your shoes!
Do I have to order prints through you?
You have to option to order prints through me or purchase prints through a third party. Albums are also available to order á la carte.
How many hours of coverage are included?
My average full wedding coverage ranges from 8-10 hrs. You may add coverage at an hourly rate, but no deductions to coverage time will occur with intentions of reducing total package cost.
